Happy Father’s Day to all of the Dads out there!

When I think about Father’s Day, I think about a job, a job I willing and whole hearted took on and love! I will never lose this job, I will never forget this job! This is the quite possibly, the best job in the world! My job is to take care of my daughter and to ensure her safety, growth and education. My job is to ensure she never wants, but to also ensure she learns what it takes to be a person in this world, and to teach her to be self-sufficient and not rely on anyone else. This is a job I don’t take lightly, it is something I wanted, and understood the requirements going in. But when I see her smile, when I see her at any point and especially when I hear her say “Daddy” it melts my heart. I love my wife, I truly do, but nothing can match the sound of my daughter saying dad. I never thought that it would be easy, but my little girl at 7 has caused me to grow some grey hairs. But it is all worth it, she is the light of my life, along with her mom, my wife, I realize what a great life and family I have!

On Father’s day I obviously think about my dad. Earlier this year he gave me and everyone he knows a big scare. He ended up having a triple by-pass heart surgery. My little sister originally went out to be with him, he lives in California and the rest of us in Denver, but when he had a setback post-surgery I had to go be with him, maybe not as much for him but for me! I could not be a thousand miles away, I just could not. I am glad I went, and we even got my brother out there, it was great for his three kids to be with him and encourage him and see him through his recovery.

Dad is doing great now, and I think back to the days, growing up, I never went wanting. He did everything he could to make my life great. Things come and go but I always knew I could count on dad to be there. I remember the good and great times, and the not so great times when I had to go get his belt so he could punish me! J

Thanks Dad! I Love You!

Thanks Addison, I will always be here for you!

Happy Father’s Day to all the Dads out there!
