Recently Microsoft launched a Technical Preview program for Skype for Business Services in Office 365. I signed up for the PBX and PSTN calling feature and last week was accepted. Here is a quick overview of the service:

Once I received my entry into the Technical Preview I registered my tenant and received licenses for using this:

I applied one of the licenses to my user account:

Next step is to go to the Skype for Business Admin Center and request phone number(s):

By clicking on the New Numbers link, I can request additional numbers, note not all states and cities are available today, and this is only for U.S. tenants:

To assign a number to a user, I just go to the users’ section of Skype for Business Admin and select the user I want to assign a number to (note you must have first granted a license to the user in the Office 365 Admin Center)

And that is all there is to it. Now I can place and receive phone calls to any other PSTN number right from my Skype for Business client!
